A big factor in weight loss is serving size. I recently went to a fancy restaurant that served what is probably a normal serving size of food for lunch. When I first looked at the plate, it looked really empty. As I finished the meal, I was left unsatisfied. The reason is that most of the serving sizes at restaurants today are probably double or triple what we should be eating.
If you are planning to eat out at a restaurant, you should budget your calories during the day to compensate for the extra calories you will be eating. Stick to small serving sizes when you eat at home. And refrain from getting a second serving of anything. Those calories really do add up.
Remember, losing weight is a numbers game. The number of calories you intake subtract from the number of calories you burn for a net calorie gain or loss. A pound is 3500 calories. Cutting back on calorie intake every day will help you to lose weight in the long run.
